This Week in Class (Actually, Last Week in Class)…
This week in class was OK at the start,.. but then it got a bit weird and “mysterious”. This is my second post of my This Week In Class. It was definetly a week with mixed feelings; sad, eagerness, happy, confused. It all felt like a mix of different shaded colors. Dark, light and normal. Well below is a little (or you could say rather long) summary of what happened during the week.
We talked about:
..our Islamic Projects in SS with Mr. R. We went over a few tips and rules about when our projects are due and how they should be presented. In fact, Mr.R told us that we would be performing them on a dhow. Well, everyone thought that it was pretty neat and cool to do our Islamic Projects on a type of Arabic Ship. In Arabic, we talked about how we should study for our tests and quizes. It was a loooonngg lecture. It took as much as half of the class time. I tried not to doze off, I mean..when you think of it… imagine listening to lectures on how you should study tests and perform oral assessments every class. I rather do all of my homework in one go (I compared this to a completely out-of-topic subject)!! I just hope my Arabic teacher doesn’t know I have this blog…hehe. In science, we talked about protists and fungi. Now ever since I’ve read all of those pages and saw about three movies on them, I now know how to figure out the differences between a poisoness mushroom to an edible one. Wow!! where did that topic come from?? Well in LA, we got laptops from the library and did our blogs (or I think that’s what we did..??). We just talked about blogging tips.
I learned that:
..I should take notes when we talk about something. Mr.R did suggest us to do so, but I seem to have lost control of my papers (Oops..). The papers will really come in handy when it comes to the “This Week in Class” posts on my blog. OK..so from now on, I will try to take notes that will help me in the future. In SS, we learned alot of new and interesting Islamic facts. But as you have noticed, I haven’t been posting any Caravan Logs. See here, and I hope that will explain to you why. In Arabic, we learned (or as people in my class call it “revise”) the days of the week. So AFL A people, you are free to agree with me that our AFL B class is going rather slowly (not that we’re trying our best though). In the past week, we have taken more than five tests. Did you read that?? More than FIVE Censored tests!! That number is bigger than the number of tests we took in Humanities all year!! Mr.R wrote a very good post on School Writing and I hope other teachers will feel the same way about the post. In Band, we learned some helpful tips (well..I thought so. It was just another “suggestion” to some other expert players..hehe). It was about how your fingers should be placed on the clarinet when “crossing the break”. I can’t really write how this is, I could only show it…which I can’t right now. In science, I learned that photosynthesis will create this sort of “sugary thing” for plants called glucose. It was really surprising. I never knew this fact until now. Well, I’ve seen a Spongebob episode that showed what photosynthesis was (in a humorously way). But that doesn’t count.
I daydreamed about:
.. wherever did Mr.R go for the last two days of school. It was kind of mysterious on whatever happened to him. The last two days wasn’t as exciting as it used to be. Our subs keep on telling us that he was sick. I just hoped nothing bad really happened. While the Arabic teacher keep on telling us those quiz tips, I daydreamed ALOT on what the Friendship Festival will be like. I’ve never been to one of them (until Friday that week). I was planning to work two hours of different shifts for the Global Issues’ games and I did an hour of shift for the school’s literature magazine I worked for. I worked for the Tumbling Dice stand and Mini Golf.
I wanted to say:
..or ask about our Caravan Logs and Wrinkle in Time books. Will we ever turn the books in? Whatever happened to the Caravan Logs? Well, that was it for Humanities. In Band, I wanted to tell my teacher that I did not make my own practice sheets (you would understand if you have band). But I did practice and tried to practice the upcoming performance assessment. By the way..I hope that won’t be coming soon.. (Lola would know why..hehe. She’s heard on how I play on the clarinet……not very well).
Other comments:
..I just hope next week (or how I see it as this week) will be less confusing and will settle for a while. I won’t be posting some things on my blog for a week because I won’t be having internet access. I’ll take a little break from schools and classes and blogs. My focus is now all about Global Issues..
